Bernina is a salad variety with a dark yellow color of meat and high yield strength. Its long, oval shape of the taper and the smooth pinches optically rises from its segment.

Resistance: This variety is characterized by resistance to scratchiness and devastation.

Purpose: Less suitable for organic production.

Recommendations for growth: It is desirable to cultivate on medium-sized soil, with good supply of water and nutrients.

Planting: The recommended space within the cage 35/55 seed is 75 centimetres, and between the rows 30-32 centimetres (~ 43,000 plants / hectare), while the seed of larger dimensions should be planted wider + 2 centimetres. Because of the high yield, plant a little deeper, max. 17 centimetres.

Preparation: Place the seeds a few days before planting.

Herbicides: No sensitivity

Fertilizers: 120 kilograms / hectare of nitrogen – this is a variety with very good N collection, so it is necessary to moderate fertilize with N, and later to avoid eating (dosages over 80 killogrames divided). 100 kilograms / hectare of water soluble phosphorus, in planting. 200-250 kilograms of potassium on medium-sized soils, and avoid the use of fertilizers that contain chlorine directly on culture. Additional fertilization with magnesium ensures yield and quality (60 kilograms / hectare).
